The Return
You step back through the glimmering vortex, and go once again through a maelstrom of emotion, experiences, and sensations. You spot two cold dark eyes staring back at you.
The Owner of the Estate looks at you strangely.
"Wh . . What was that?" you ask. "Where did I go?"
"You went everywhere, and nowhere. You saw everything, and nothing."
"I don't understand." you say.
"Exactly. You're not supposed to . . . . yet."
You stare at him curiously, trying to find any meaning in any of his mysterious words. You find none.
"I'd suggest you not tinker around with my inventions anymore if you don't know what you're doing."
You nod willingly, not even thinking about it, saying anything, anything at all to get his cold, unforgiving eyes off of you.
"Ahh, listen, I have to go." you say. "I think the storm's finally let up now."
"Has it now?" the Owner of the Estate says. A sinister smile creases his face. "I hadn't noticed."
"Y . . Yes." you say. "It has. Now . . . ummm . . . if it's alright with you, I must go."
"And what of the wild animals awaiting at the gates, hungrily gnashing for fresh meat?" he asks.
"I'll manage." you say.
"Well, I enjoyed your visit." said the Owner. "I do so love the visits." He glances off. "Still, you may leave now, if you'd like to."
"Y . . Yes." you say again, with more conviction. "I'd like to leave now. I . . . . Aaahhhh!!!" you shout as a searing pain comes upon you.
"What's wrong?" asks the Owner of the Estate.
"I don't know." you say. "I got this sharp pain, I . . . .AAAAHHHH!!!!" The pain comes upon you again, this time more severe than before. Everything around you swirls dreamily, and you lose all perception of your surroundings. You collapse weakly on the floor. As you gaze up, towards the sky, you spot the Owner of the Estate hovering over you. You can just barely make out what appears to be a smile on his face.
Holy God!!! What's happened to me?!!!
